A couple months ago, Shepard raised the hopes of fans everywhere when he hinted that he and Bell would be open to switching things up with Conan O’Brien.
“I’m well documented, I love male bodies — as I love women’s bodies. I just love the human form,” he joked in the July appearance on O’Brien’s show, before noting that he loved the way O’Brien’s body has been getting more muscular lately and seguing into a subtle nod to a little wife swapping.
“It could be a joke. It’s a comedy show!” exclaimed Shepard. “So, that time I said I wanted to get you and our wives together… on that comedy program of yours… I was just teasing, unless you think that’s a good idea.”
But although Shepard loves other couples, he doesn’t love other couples, according to Bell.
“I don’t want to hurt your feelings, but you’re not the first person he’s tried to get us to swing with,” Bell said to O’Brien on Tuesday when she stopped in to chat on the show.
“He’s a very free spirit… he just loves people. He loves the human frame and he constantly suggests at different dinner parties that we ‘hang out’ and ‘really get to know each other,'” she added. “We’re not actually swinging with anyone.”
But an indignant O’Brien wasn’t about to let himself feel dissed by Bell’s denial that Shepard was really propositioning him for a romp. He said there’s no way he could get it on with a man who wears overalls anyway.
Sorry Kristen, we’re not sure we are buying it. Dax seemed pretty excited at the wife swap prospect.
What do you think? Was Bell just trying to undo her husband’s damage?
