Cue happy dance: Luke Pell's future on The Bachelor may not be over
No one was more surprised by the announcement that Nick Viall was going to become The Bachelor's latest star than Season 12 Bachelorette contestant Luke Pell (who already had his bags packed and everything). But is it really all over for Pell?
Maybe not, at least according to host Chris Harrison, who weighed in on Pell during an interview with E! News.
"We always have multiple candidates," Harrison explained. "That's usually always how it works. We always keep our doors open, because at the end of the day, the most important thing for us is that someone is sincere and that they are honest about coming on The Bachelor to find love. At the end of the day, it got to the point where we felt like Nick was that guy."
OK, fair enough, and we're looking forward to seeing Viall fall in love with someone who actually reciprocates his affections this time, but what does this really mean for Pell? Is there hope of seeing him on The Bachelor in the future?
"Luke was great, and I think people need to understand this isn't an indictment on Luke," Harrison claims. "He's a great guy, a super-nice guy, and we may see him next summer in [Bachelor in] Paradise, we may see him as the next Bachelor. Who knows? I mean, look what happened with Nick! You never know who could come back... I would still say Luke would be a great Bachelor, but Nick, as of right now, is our guy."
While it's not a concrete answer, it does give us (and the countless other Pell fans out there) some hope that he could still find love on the show in the future — if he's willing to return to the show, that is.
