Remember Bryan Kattenburg from Below Deck Med? Well, he's back, but with a new hairdo and a new vocabulary. Below Deck's answer to Kattenburg is named Trevor Walker, and let's just say, he's already managed to attract some major vitriol on Twitter. Viewers mainly take issue with his air of superiority; from the very beginning, he made it his mission in life to let everybody know that he's the senior deckhand. Keep in mind, this charter has a bosun, so senior deckhand's not as big of a deal as Walker claims.
It's probably too soon to know for sure if Walker can handle the demands of being a senior deckhand on a drama-prone yacht, but he sure isn't off to a good start. He's already managed to alienate the other deckhands, who don't seem all that eager to work with somebody who acts so arrogant.
Kattenburg isn't the only Below Deck Med crew member with whom Walker can be compared. Walker also has quite a few things in common with Danny Zureikat, including, most notably, an apparent lack of discretion when it comes to dealing with guests. He's already taken his shirt off for a few very fortunate female guests, and I won't be surprised at all if his inappropriate mingling extends beyond mere shirtlessness. Arrogance, cluelessness... I anticipate a lot of deckhand drama in the near future!
Below Deck is always best when there's a good villain, and nobody is better at playing villain than a crew member in a role of authority. Captain Lee and Kate Chastain are anything but villains, so that leaves Walker to fill a very big set of shoes. So far, he's doing a terrible job as a senior deckhand and a wonderful job as the reality star that everybody loves to hate. Watch out, viewers, because there is surely plenty of juicy drama in Below Deck's future!
