Britney Spears needs a man but only for baby making, not for marriage
If your Friday is off to a slow start or if there's not as much joy in your life as there could be, I submit for your consideration the latest edition of James Corden's Carpool Karaoke with guest Britney Spears. Spears' ninth studio album, Glory, which includes the single "Make Me..." will be released on Aug. 26, and she'll perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 28. Note her total confusion and excellent facial expressions when Corden asks what her hit "Oops, I Did It Again" is about. Spears: "I don't know... I think it's just a song." Also worth watching: the discussion of the aliases she uses when staying in hotels and what she knows about trends in bondage. It's not all singing and hilarity, though. Spears gets real about what she wants in the future and what she definitely doesn't.
What she wants, Spears tells Corden, is three more kids (the singer has two sons, Sean Preston, 9, and Jayden, 10, with ex-husband Kevin Federline). While she's looking for the right guy to have said children with and she "might French kiss someone," she's not interested in getting married again. "I don't believe in marriage anymore," she said to Corden. Her marriage to Federline ended in 2007. In 2004, Spears married childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas, although the marriage was annulled 55 hours later.
Spears' candidness in regard to men and marriage is refreshing and funny. Marriage isn't for everyone and it's excellent to hear her be real about what she wants and how she's going to get it. She has definitely been through the ringer when it comes to relationships, and it's been basically impossible for her to have a private life or to shed the image she acquired with her very public breakdown in 2007. This Britney Spears, who seems much happier than previous incarnations, doesn't seem to care what people think of her — she wants what she wants, and it is excellent. To you, Brit.
