Apparently no Bachelor couple is safe from the pull of Marriage Boot Camp

Marriage Boot Camp’s most recent season just ended, and already it’s time to gird ourselves for the next one. The new season, which will begin in October, promises some super drama. The cast consists of Mob Wives’ Karen Gravano and her boyfriend, Storm; Amber Marchese of the Real Housewives of New Jersey and her husband, Jim; Keke Wyatt and Michael Ford from R&B Divas: Atlanta; a “throuple” — that’s three people in a relationship — whose names haven’t been announced yet but might be Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta stars Nikko London, ex-wife Margeaux Simms and Simms’ girlfriend, Merike Palmiste; and Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert from Bachelor in Paradise.

While I know logically that reality stars go on Marriage Boot Camp for fame and fortune and not necessarily to repair their relationships (or their non-relationships, Tara Reid and Dean May), since you could seek private therapy that doesn’t involve being on TV, I feel like this stint on Marriage Boot Camp doesn’t bode well for these two. Roper and Tolbert got married in January of 2016 in a wedding broadcast on ABC. The first year of marriage is apparently super hard, but it’s surprising that they’d be on in the first place, since they were definitely one of the most drama-free couples in the history of Bachelor in Paradise or, essentially, on any season of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette.

Alumni of The Bachelor and its franchise have appeared on MBC before: Trista and Ryan Sutter, Sean and Catherine Lowe and, most recently, Michelle Money and Cody Sattler went through Boot Camp and left with their relationships intact (although Money and Sattler broke up after the show).

What could be up with Roper and Tolbert? (Other than the fact that their entire courtship happened on a TV show?) Hopefully their issues are low-grade and just being inflated for the sake of reality TV, and they’ll make it out as a couple instead of being the center of all the drama.

Do you think Jade and Tanner’s relationship can withstand Marriage Boot Camp? Are you excited about the upcoming season?
