Dear people who thought Heather Dubrow was fake crying on RHOC: Puh-lease
Heather Dubrow is usually the most cool, calm and collected woman on The Real Housewives of Orange County. She may even be the most composed in any of the cities. But she is no match for this season’s villain, Kelly Dodd. On the most recent episode, Dubrow finally cracked and cried to her husband on the phone about Dodd’s behavior.
Instead of being supportive, though, trolls on Twitter have accused Dubrow of fake crying for attention that night. But Dubrow is having none of it. She responded by tweeting, “Look - it was just my natural response to the evening . Trust me - would have rather have been composed.”
And I believe her completely. Dubrow has dealt with the constant fighting and erratic behavior from all the women for many years now. None of them have been as rude and aggressive as Dodd, though. She was clearly just the straw that broke the camel's back.
And you really can’t blame her. Her patience has to be wearing thin with all the things that she has to deal with, between a husband who works all the time and friends who can’t go one cocktail party without yelling. Add on the fact that she’s raising her children and building a career. This woman is stressed and deserves to be able to cry to her husband if she needs to.
The size of her tears does not determine whether or not her feelings are real. The fact is, we’ve never seen her cry, so we don’t know what it looks like. It’s not anyone’s place to judge someone’s emotions because her tears are not up to par.
But more than that, if we’re going to start pointing fingers at women for fake crying on Housewives episodes to get more attention, the last person we’re going to start with is Dubrow. There are plenty of women who have been doing it at every reunion show since the show began. Let’s leave Dubrow alone and thank her for being the voice of reason among some truly insane cocktail parties.
