Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth's gold party involved painting their bare butts
While Miley Cyrus may have toned down her wild-child side a little bit since reconciling with Liam Hemsworth, it looks like the two actually met somewhere in the middle — pics from Hemsworth's gold-themed party show that it was downright bizarre.
The party was reportedly held as a birthday bash for Hemsworth's sister-in-law, Samantha. Hemsworth and Cyrus were in attendance, as well as Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne, who often collaborates with Cyrus. Pro surfer Kelly Slater also made a showing at the soiree, where guests wore all-gold outfits, posed with a life-size gold statue of a horse and took part in some strange activities, including painting one another's butts.
The crowd at the party took turns posing in different groups with the horse statue, which had twisty gold streamers hanging from its head. The rest of the room was appropriately decorated for the party — curtains over a window looked to have been replaced by shiny gold streamers, and a giraffe statue in the corner was decked out in a shiny gold skirt. Cyrus wore a gold basketball jersey, while Hemsworth rocked shiny gold shorts and a Gold's Gym tank, and Coyne wore gold ram horns attached to the sides of his head.
The butt-painting looked like it may have been an alcohol-fueled activity; according to one caption on an Instagram pic of the action, it went down at 5 a.m.
At some point, all the party guests signed a gold balloon, and Hemsworth and Cyrus signed their names together as "Liley," in case there was any lingering doubt about their relationship status.
