1. She knows a thing or two about the real estate market

First, let’s get the simple things out the way: Maguire is from Brisbane but currently lives in Sydney’s glamorous Eastern Suburbs. As for her line of work? According to Woman’s Day, she’s a real estate professional.

2. She was part of a polygamous cult

Maguire’s childhood was far from normal. In fact, her dark family secret was recently exposed and splashed across the media: She grew up in a sex cult. According to Woman’s Day, she’s the daughter of the late convicted paedophile and polygamous cult leader Alistah Laishkochav, who had nine wives and 64 children. In 2000, he was convicted of 20 child sex offences.

3. Her father did not play a role in her life

When Maguire was 5 years old, her mother, Michelle, removed herself and her children from the cult. They moved to Brisbane, where Maguire was raised by her mother and grandmother. Maguire said in a statement, “My mother removed my family from that environment when I was 5 years old,” adding, “I was brought up by my mother and grandmother in Brisbane in a loving, caring and compassionate household.”

4. She grew up with five siblings

Although Maguire has since met and reconnected with her family (after her mother left the cult in 1993), she had no relationship with Laishkochav. And while she has many, many siblings, she grew up with just five, whose names are Ty, Sean, Shath, Leilani and Jade.

5. She’s been dubbed The Bachelor Australia‘s bad girl

Maguire is outspoken and confrontational on camera, something which has resulted in social media backlash.

However, fellow contestant Sasha Zhuravlyova recently came to her defence, saying, “The public can see 10 per cent of Keira, and obviously it looks on the TV like that is a massive drama, but sometimes it was probably just one or two comments.”

6. She’s been compared to Lara Bingle in the media

Maguire has even admitted that she and Bingle share a striking resemblance. “It’s not intentional, but my hair happens to be the same as hers, and I take it as a total compliment,” Maguire previously told The Sydney Morning Herald. What do you think of the comparison?

7. She’s friends with Richie Strahan’s cousin

According to Daily Mail, Maguire is friends with Strahan’s cousin, Lisa Clark, and she has featured multiple times on her social media.

So, could her friendship with Clark have given her an unfair advantage, as she was able to learn more about Strahan’s likes and dislikes before the show? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see…
