Johnny Depp's ex Vanessa Paradis continues to get involved in his divorce drama
Vanessa Paradis isn't backing down in her defense of Johnny Depp. Despite the domestic abuse allegations by Amber Heard that Depp is facing, Paradis has been public about her support for him. Now she's gotten embroiled in their legal battle, as well.
Documents obtained by the Daily Mail show that Depp's team is planning to call Paradis as a witness for a trial set for early next week. She'll be asked to testify "for approximately 15 minutes regarding their relationship," which includes decades of partnership and their children Lily-Rose Depp, 17, and John, 14. The two never married.
Other witnesses include Hilda Vargas, the former couple's housekeeper at the time of the alleged abuse; Heard's publicist, Jodi Gottlieb; former friends and neighbors; and Heard's friend iO Tillett Wright, who called the police on Depp. Heard herself is slated to testify, with Depp's lawyers allotting an excruciating four hours for her on the witness stand. E! News points out that Heard lists seven witnesses to Depp's 23. There is also expected to be evidence of injuries and audio showing the couple's relationship.
Here's a simpler way to put it: It's going to get messy. There's probably not much that Depp's attorney, Laura Wasser, nicknamed "Hollywood's complete divorce solution," hasn't thought of. The trial is set for Aug. 14 and 15. For all the women out there who are looking to this as an example, let's hope they find some resolution.
