If Nathan Fillion wanted to ruin Stana Katic’s career, he’ll have to try again

After last week’s announcement that Nathan Fillion has moved on from Castle and on to bigger and better things, there were whispers of disappointment that his career had rebounded faster from the show’s cancellation than his co-star, Stana Katic.

But Katic supporters can rest easy because the rumored feud between her and Fillion definitely didn’t bring her career to a grinding halt. In fact, Katic has been a busy bee since she got fired from Castle — which the gossip mill says is because of her on-set beef with Fillion.

It was announced this week that Katic will be taking her talents to the stage on Sept. 26 at the Westside Theater in New York City, where she will star in Nassim Soleimanpour’s play, White Rabbit Red Rabbit, according to Broadway World.

Katic has some huge shoes to fill: Previous performers of the play include Nathan Lane, Martin Short and Wayne Brady — just to name a few.

More: Welp, Nathan Fillion just made Castle fans dislike him even more

Judging by Katic’s Twitter feed, she’s just a little excited about her new venture, as she’s happily replying to fans’ tweets with photos of rabbits punctuated with emojis.

White Rabbit Red Rabbit is an experimental play in which performers are given the script the day they go up on stage, with no time to rehearse. Sounds like a huge departure from being on a scripted TV drama for eight seasons, doesn’t it? The performance should be an amazing opportunity for Katic to display her acting range.

In addition to her upcoming theater project, Katic’s Lifetime movie, Sister Cities, will make it’s debut on Sept. 17, according to TVLine. The movie co-stars Michelle Trachtenberg and Troian Bellisario, and was filmed back in 2015.

More: Fans turned against Castle’s Nathan Fillion and now he’s out of a job

Fillion supporters will get their fix this fall as well. He will return to small screens in Season 8 of Modern Family for a multiple-episode arc as “a local weatherman who gets involved with the Dunphys,” executive producer Steven Levitan announced last week at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
