Reality star confirms her two brothers were killed in New Orleans shooting
Two young men killed in a shooting in New Orleans have been confirmed to be the brothers of reality star Toya Wright.
Ryan "Rudy" Johnson and Josh Johnson were shot and killed soon after midnight on Sunday, according to police reports. Family members confirmed their identities to reporters in the New Orleans area, and on Sunday, Wright, who is the ex-wife of rapper Lil Wayne and star of BET reality shows Tiny and Toya and Toya: A Family Affair, took to Instagram to confirm that the two men were her brothers.
"Help me Lord. I will never understand this. #stoptheviolence #ineverfeltpainlikethisbefore #riptomybrothers #icantbelievethis #prayformyfamily," Wright wrote alongside a photo of her two brothers sitting side by side.
She also posted a video of herself and Josh singing together, as well as a screenshot from Tiny and Toya with the caption, "I'll give anything to laugh with you again. #myrudeboy #icantbelievethisisreal #RipRudy #stoptheviolence."
Police have not released any information about a motive or possible suspects, and did not respond to requests for comment from People magazine.
Wright shares one daughter with Lil Wayne, who also posted on social media mourning the two men.
Alongside a photo of Ryan, Reginae Carter, daughter of Wright and Lil Wayne wrote, "Ryan , I love u ! Come back please ! I called u last night and u didn't answer ! You were my bestfriend ! You were my brother ! You were my uncle ! What do I do without u now ? My favorite ! You're gone !!!!!! Whyyyyy! Why? I would never question you God !! But why my uncles ? Why?"
