The divorce drama between Ed Hartwell and Keshia Knight Pulliam is getting more confusing every day. Earlier in the week, Hartwell claimed that Pulliam cheated on him during their marriage and that was the reason for their divorce. But now Pulliam is saying that the opposite is true.
Pulliam sat down with Entertainment Tonight to talk about her side of the story. She said, “Early on in my marriage when I was faced with this, I was ready to leave. It’s not OK. In the process, I found out I was pregnant. And I had to take another hard look and decide if I wanted to try to work through this and forgive him for the sake of the child. Like, I had divorce papers ready. I presented it to him.”
She decided against the divorce because she wanted to do what was right for her family. She said, “Once I was pregnant, I did decide to give him that one last chance.”
Despite her forgiveness and decision to work things out, Hartwell blindsided Pulliam with divorce papers just seven months after their New Year’s Eve wedding. Pulliam was heartbroken and pregnant, so she wanted to stay silent about the whole thing, but knew she had to defend herself when the cheating rumors came out.
She said, “I knew I couldn’t be silent because this isn’t about money. This isn’t about fame. This isn’t about social media likes or follows. This is about my character — my integrity as a woman being attacked — and that’s not OK.”
Pulliam is obviously distraught over having to deal with this much drama at the end of her pregnancy. Still, she’s confident the truth will be revealed as long as she continues to stand up for herself. She said, “I didn’t do anything wrong. I didn’t cheat on my husband. I didn’t do it. It’s really that simple.”
Both parties are incredibly confident in their innocence and that makes it difficult to decide who to believe. The only thing that is totally clear is that the sooner the exes clean up this mess and start focusing on their unborn child, the better.
