Jeremy Renner's ex-wife accuses him of skipping out on child support
If Jeremy Renner's ex-wife is right, he's slacking off as a dad.
According to recent media reports, Renner's ex, Sonni Pacheco, claims he's way behind on child support. So behind, she says he owes her nearly $50,000 right now.
TMZ obtained court documents that show that Pacheco is claiming Renner owes her more than $48,000 that he agreed to pay for expenses for their 3-year-old daughter, Ava, since the divorce. According to Pacheco, part of that amount is tuition for Ava's preschool, which comes to $1,600 per month.
It's been more than a year since Renner and Pacheco finalized their divorce. They split in 2015 after they had been married for eight months. They share joint custody of Ava, and in December, a judge ordered Renner to begin paying $13,000 a month in child support for the little girl.
In the court documents, Renner quotes a text message he allegedly sent to Pacheco telling her he couldn't afford the five-figure support payments.
"I'm not sure why you keep coming after more money here, Sonni," he wrote. "I don't have the cash to give you. I'm sorry you can't figure out how to care for (Ava) with over 300k."
Pacheco is asking the court to force Renner to pay all the child support he owes, plus all of Ava's preschool tuition. New York Daily News reports that Renner's rep didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
