Lamar Odom's recent behavior is so concerning, his family had to step in
Lamar Odom seems to be continuing on yet another downward spiral.
It's been just over six months since the former NBA star overcame a brush with death — he was found unresponsive at a brothel in Nevada after a four-day bender spent overdosing on multiple drugs. Odom was lucky enough to escape without lasting brain damage or physical limitations, and while he appeared to be living on the straight and narrow for some time — with the help of his estranged wife, Khloé Kardashian — Odom now appears to be heading down another dangerous path.
Earlier this month, Odom was escorted off a plane after he reportedly downed several drinks in quick succession at LAX and vomited on himself after boarding the flight. After that incident, Page Six reports that his family staged an intervention, hoping to help Odom see how unhealthy his lifestyle has become.
According to the site, his close family members, including his kids, aunt JaNean Mercer and ex-wife Liza Morales, were all in attendance. There's no word about whether Kardashian showed up. Reports say that the family confronted Odom about his drug use and even Skyped in former MLB star and drug survivor Darryl Strawberry, who invited Odom to attend treatment at the Darryl Strawberry Recovery Center in Florida. Ron Dock, who used to be the New York Yankees' intervention coordinator, reportedly helped out as well.
Unfortunately, it sounds like the family's concerns fell on deaf ears. Odom reportedly headed from the family intervention straight to a strip club in Queens, New York, where he continued partying.
