Bet you never knew you could learn so much from Jack and Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy and Jack Osbourne are back on reality TV, but this time they're actually teaching us something. Specifically, they're teaching us something about American history with their new show Ozzy and Jack's World Detour. Weird, I know, given that they're of English descent, but trust me, it works.
Jack really takes the reigns on this show, narrating it and generally driving the direction, which makes sense since it's hard to understand Ozzy half the time. Heck, the show doesn't even hide the fact that the guy mumbles his words. They provide you with some helpful subtitles along the way.
Despite the Ozzy-specific language barrier, I found the premiere to be surprisingly enjoyable. Prior to watching I really didn't have an opinion on the Osbournes one way or the other. I didn't watch The Osbournes back in the day, so I had an open mind when heading into this series.
At first, I thought there was no way it was going to work. Not only is Ozzy difficult to understand, but he has this way of carrying himself like he's drunk all the time. Despite this, the more I watched, the more he grew on me. He's like Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. The more he slurs and mumbles, the more lovable he becomes.
Apparently, Ozzy is also actually fantastically knowledgeable about history as well. Jack introduces him, after all, as the Prince of Darkness and history buff. We didn't really get to delve into his knowledge in the premiere, however. It was Jack who really seemed to know his stuff, but I'm willing to wait for Ozzy to shine in future episodes. As long as he will actually shine in the near future.
Did you think Jack & Ozzy's World Detour was worth the watch?
