Blake Shelton's not letting anyone talk smack about Gwen Stefani
Is Gwen Stefani's This Is What the Truth Feels Like tour doing as well as she hoped? According to a recent report from Perez Hilton, Stefani was forced to slash ticket prices, offering four tickets for as little as $40 —and she reportedly still didn't manage to fill the stadium.
But these are claims that Stefani's boyfriend, Blake Shelton, was quick to refute. Taking to Twitter he defended Stefani's show at the Xfinity Center in Boston, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, with a series of tweets showing what looked to be a packed stadium.
Seemingly addressing the report, Shelton tweeted, "That's right everybody.. No matter how good your eye site [sic] is @gwenstefani show was "empty" lastnight."
He then followed up with another picture, saying he wished thousands of people would come and see him on a Tuesday night.
Shelton also retweeted several messages of support for Stefani and her concert, including one from a fan who wrote, "@blakeshelton @gwenstefani ppl were also sayin about prices goin down. Im from Mass, xfinity center always brings down prices days b4 a show" — something which Shelton claimed wouldn't have made for a news story.
Shelton ended on a high note, reminding fans to never take shit.
However, Perez Hilton states in their article that if the arena seemed packed, it wasn't, because sources claim that Live Nation reps were handing out free tickets to anyone who wanted them, in the hopes of filling the stadium. The venue reportedly also cut off the lawn, which seats thousands, and relocated people to the front of the stage.
The site also uploaded a video, which shows a lot of empty seats.
As for Stefani, she has also been sharing pictures of her show on social media, including this one, thanking Boston for their support.
