Michael Jackson’s ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and according to TMZ her daughter Paris Jackson doesn’t even know about her health problems.
Jackson and her mother, Rowe, have a strained relationship: they haven’t been in contact for over a year, but they were once very close, so close in fact that their relationship reportedly caused friction with the rest of the family. Then, in May of 2016, Jackson took the break from her mother one step further by deciding to unfollow her on social media (that’s the way it’s done these days, y’all).
Now Rowe is believed to be facing breast cancer alone, and according to the site will undergo surgery within the next week, with no emotional support from her daughter. And while she’s reportedly sad about it, according to TMZ, she’s all but given up on salvaging the relationship.
This is not Rowe’s first cancer scare, as two years ago she feared she had cancer, however, it turned out to be the auto-immune disease sarcoidosis, Daily Mail reports.
As for Jackson, she may be unaware of Rowe’s recent diagnosis, but she seems to be in a pretty good place in her life at the moment as she recently took to Instagram to share several pictures of herself, as well as a short video.
Fans have commented on Jackson’s most recent post (the video) and shared their sadness about Rowe’s diagnosis — and it’s evident that some people are hoping that Rowe’s illness may bring her and Jackson together again.
“I’m so sorry for ur mother @parisjackson Hope y’all can become close again!” tiffnvb22 wrote.
Happyowl4 shared their thoughts, writing, “Prayers for your mom that she will be healed with a speedy recovery and God will touch the doctors and nurses giving them wisdom to help her case Amen.”
