Jinger Duggar's boyfriend admits to history of partying and 'sinning'
It’s no secret that the Duggars have very strong religious beliefs that dictate their way of life. From the way they dress to their dating life, (most of) the Duggars follow a very conservative Christian way of life. So when a new person comes into their life, it’s interesting to hear about their background and what their beliefs are. The newest person to come into the picture is Jeremy Vuolo, Jinger Duggar’s boyfriend, who admits that his past is full of sin.
To help introduce himself to the Duggar fan base and spread his message of Christianity, Vuolo posted a video to YouTube that is almost 20 minutes long.
The first half is mostly a testimony where he proved his devotion to Christ, obviously something that Duggar finds attractive about him. But in the second half, he gives us more details about who he is and where he comes from.
Vuolo revealed that he is a 28-year-old Pennsylvania native who had dreams of being a professional soccer player. He played in college and professionally in Finland, but gave it all up after a year in order to become a full-time pastor, which he now is in Texas.
More interestingly, Vuolo talked about the drinking and sinning in his past. He talked about being 16 and going to parties in high school where he drank and did what most American high schoolers do. He delivers the information as if he were admitting to, I don’t know, a molestation charge. To the casual viewer, it’s a lot to take in.
I respect that it isn’t the lifestyle he wants to lead anymore. I can even understand that he thinks it’s not the right path to take. But attending parties and dating when you’re a young adult isn’t the worst sin of all. Hearing him say that during college he was “living foolishly” and “slipping deeper and deeper into the pits of lust and selfishness and pride” is just a bit much.
But then again, he’s Duggar’s boyfriend and not mine. Maybe that kind of talk is exactly what she wants to hear.
