Michael Strahan doesn't miss Live! with Kelly and he's not afraid to say it
In the weeks since Michael Strahan's dramatic departure from Live!, Kelly Ripa has been thrust into fun (and awkward) situations with new guest host after new host. But how's Strahan doing over at Good Morning America?
According to a new interview on Chelsea Handler's new talk show Chelsea, Strahan is doing just fine. More importantly, he's convinced he made the right decision. "I really haven't missed it," he said without a hint of sugar-coating. "But I loved it. Don't get me wrong: I loved it. When you get a break, sometimes you kind of go, 'Wow, I kind of needed it.' I needed a break."
The shade doesn't stop there. Strahan must know how hard Ripa has been working to replace his seat, but he told Handler: "I really haven't had a chance to watch. But I think I've been working so hard for the last seven or eight years since I retired from football, that it's been a relief." We get it, he's thrilled that he's not on Live! any more. But it seems a little rude to go on a talk show and be so public about the fact that he adores his new job and hasn't even thought about his old one, don't you think? It's like posting a bunch of new photos of your girlfriend while your ex is at home crying. Strahan, you can do better.
