Johnny Depp hides on private island after Amber Heard granted restraining order
Johnny Depp is in hiding on his private island in the Bahamas as his contentious divorce from Amber Heard plays out. While he's avoiding Los Angeles, he's bringing his friends and family to him. (Not a bad deal — a vacation in the Bahamas. The worst part, honestly, would probably be hanging out with a moody Johnny Depp.) An insider spoke to People about Depp's strategy for lying low.
"He has no plans to return to LA," said the source. "He misses nothing about LA but his kids, and they are visiting him in the Bahamas." Now that school has concluded, his daughter Lily-Rose Depp has scheduled a visit, and his son Jack is allegedly expected to arrive shortly with his mother Vanessa Paradis, who has remained close to Depp.
"Having his kids around is always great for him. He has really missed his kids," says the source.
Aside from having family close, friends are also "flying back and forth for visits" to the island. One reason he may be staying far away from Los Angeles? Heard has been granted a temporary restraining order against him. Instead of tempting fate, he can simply hide out on what's surely a very comfortable private island way from those pesky photographers. But not to worry — we'll see him back stateside soon for a tour with his band the Hollywood Vampires.
