RHONY's Jules versus Michael Wainstein: Is the divorce going to get ugly?
For fans of The Real Housewives of New York, it's unfortunately not surprising that Jules and Michael Wainstein are headed for divorce. The shocking news is that if these early quotes serve as a barometer, the divorce may turn out to be a bitter battle.
Rumors have surfaced that infidelity is at the root of the couple's issues. It's no surprise that Michael's lawyer, Michael Jay Heller, soundly disagrees. He spoke to E! News about the divorce filing. "We prepared papers dated May 13. We sued her for divorce. She has not answered the papers. If she had any basis for counterclaim against him, she would have done so," said Heller. "This incorrect allegation that he was busted for committing adultery, if it's true, she certainly would have answered his papers countersuing him for adultery. She has not done that." Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but he's certainly trying incredibly hard to disprove the theory for someone who's not guilty.
E! reports that the couple is still living together in their New York City apartment, although that may not last for long after Jules called the police on Michael for "speaking to her in a threatening manner."
In addition to the whisperings of adultery, an insider claims "pressure from filming clearly put a strain on their marriage." We can hope her new castmates and co-workers who have been through this before (Ramona, we're looking at you) will lend a hand to Jules as she deals with the pressure of a public divorce.
