Is The Bachelorette's Chad a jerk or the most real guy the show's ever seen?

Chad is like the Donald Trump of Season 12 of The Bachelorette.

Sure, he's honest and upfront, but do you really want a total douchebag just for his honesty? Um, politics aside, no.

Plus, using honesty as an excuse to put people down, take things too seriously, act condescendingly and refuse to have a good time is not OK. He's hiding his insecurities behind a smugness that is not selling well.

"I do think Chad is overcompensating for something and I don't know why," JoJo says after her one-on-one time with him the evening after their date.

She needs to trust that woman's intuition. Something is seriously off with this guy. And I know that he admitted to her that his mother just passed away, and I feel for him, but that isn't an excuse to be so rude to everyone else.

I don't like mean people and I don't have a lot of patience for them.

I actually really appreciated what Chad said to JoJo during the group date. Not the nagging comment, but the part about how he didn't know what he'd want to say to JoJo if he were to propose because he doesn't know her well enough yet. I get that. I respect that. Especially since The Bachelorette can seem a little ridiculous sometimes in how quickly everything happens.

But it was all in good fun. Obviously the guys aren't already ready to propose. It was just a silly way for all of them to get to know one another better. Chad couldn't hang. He didn't even try and that was where his game went from honest to uncomfortable and rude.

Although, I will say, Chad won some points back in my book when it came to the cocktail party tonight. Alex really went after him with a group of guys for the way he walked with JoJo before she even entered the cocktail party. It only made Alex and the others who were picking at him look back.

As if that wasn't annoying enough, the show then spent an unnecessary amount of time analyzing the amount of food Chad consumed during the cocktail party. Who cares?

The last and most important redeeming moment was Chad's one-on-one time with JoJo. The guy genuinely likes her and wants to spend time with her. I know he's annoying about the way he cuts into people's time, but I do appreciate that he told the cameras he was "giddy" over her.

Unfortunately for Chad, his #rightreasons aren't enough for me to get over his attitude even though the other guys, especially Alex, need to seriously back off and focus on getting to know JoJo rather than picking at Chad. Bullying on any side is not attractive.

Do you like Chad's honesty or should JoJo beware?
