One Wonder Years star could be the next Live! host while another gets a DUI
It's been quite a week for alums of the late '80s sitcom The Wonder Years.
Over the weekend, Jason Hervey, who played Kevin Arnold's older brother on the show, served two days in jail for a DUI arrest in 2015.
According to TMZ, Hervey was arrested in January of 2015 for an alleged DUI, alleged possession of a handgun while under the influence and alleged violation of implied consent, meaning he allegedly refused to take a police blood test.
The site spoke to Hervey, who said he had a prescription for Ambien and took one before leaving home to run an errand. He also said he was thankful he was pulled over before anything bad happened.
Hervey's weapons charge was dropped — he reportedly had a permit for the handgun that was in his truck — but he ultimately had to serve two days in jail for the DUI, which he completed over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Hervey's The Wonder Years co-star, Fred Savage, who played the starring role of Kevin Arnold, also has big news, though his is decidedly more exciting — he's rumored to be in the running to be the new co-host of Live!
Savage served as a guest co-host several times after Michael Strahan's departure for his new hosting gig on Good Morning America, and fans absolutely loved him. Tweets poured in asking the show to just go ahead and name him the new co-host now.
Throughout the month, though, there are a number of other guest co-host scheduled, including Anderson Cooper and host Kelly Ripa's husband, Mark Consuelos. Savage may have knocked it out of the park during his slots, but he still has competition.
