Jessica Simpson plans to let motherhood be her music spirit guide
Get your '90s nostalgia ready: Jessica Simpson is back in the studio. It's been six years since she last released an album, and she tells the Huffington Post that she's ready to turn her experience as a wife and mother into art.
"It’s been a very exciting time to rediscover music and I definitely have so much inspiration," she says. "I’ve been in the music business for so long, and it’s interesting to see what I come up with as a mom and the perspective I have after all the records I have made and all the life situations I’ve been through. There’s a lot to talk about. There’s a lot to sing about. There’s a lot I feel like people will relate to."
Simpson says she's "been in the studio all week" and has clearly been feeling herself while recording, so let's hope we can see some new music soon.
In a recent interview with the Today show, Simpson shared how her children have changed her recording style. She now records in her basement, she says, which she's "sure [her] children will completely take over." That's a feeling any mom looking for some privacy — pop star or not — can relate to.
She even revealed that she hopes to go on tour once this new album is released. Jess, we can't wait to see those dance moves again. Get down to that basement and keep recording!
