Ugh, Castle's finale promo is depressing & the episode will be even worse
"Kate Beckett is going to be dead by the end of the night and there's nothing you can do about it."
No, I'm not quoting an ABC executive — though I might as well be — but Castle's latest villain who is foretelling the death of Stana Katic's Beckett in the Season 8 finale trailer.
The new promo seems to confirm the fandom's greatest fears: Katic's exit from the show will result in a not-so-happy ending to the fairy tale romance of Beckett and Castle. The trailer illustrates how the couple gets caught up in a trap during their pursuit of LokSat, which leads to a hostage situation for both.
"Everything ends in tragedy. Even a big love story like yours," the kidnapper says to a heartbroken Castle.
To twist the knife, the trailer also has an angelically glowing image of Caskett embracing before all the evil goes down.
OMG, if it's this hard to just watch the trailer, what's the actual episode even going to be like?
Since her departure was announced several weeks ago, fans have been extremely vocal about their dismay surrounding Katic's exit — and many would rather see the whole program die with her than go on without her.
A major character death seems like an awful lot to give away in a finale promo, but the jig is up — we already know that Katic's Beckett is out for good. Now we just have to watch how it happens through our fingers during Monday night's episode.
Then again, there's always the possibility of a huge surprise twist that sends Beckett abroad or something, but I don't think anyone's holding their breath.
