It’s official! Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom confirmed their relationship on the red carpet of the 2016 Met Gala. You may be thinking they walked together, shared some PDA for the cameras, but nope! They wore matching Tamagotchis to show the world that they are officially together.

Who needs Facebook official when you have Tamagotchi official?

The theme of the night was to show off the way technology and fashion work together, but mostly the pair wearing their Tamagotchis confirmed that they belong together.

Perry and Bloom have been spotted together nearly everywhere — from Coachella to Runyon Canyon, but they have yet to talk openly about their relationship. It seems like they may finally be ready to open up about their romance. Or at least about what it takes to keep a digital pet alive. Which I am also interested in.

The speculation about the couple started early this year and has only gotten stronger as the two were spotted together more and more often. Even though they didn’t arrive to the Met Gala together, it will be interesting to see if they leave the night together.

I say anyone who is a champion of the '90s deserves a round of applause and some kind of couple of the week award, at least.

What do you think? Do the Tamagotchis confirm the new couple? Or is it just a coincidence?
