RHOBH's Kim Richards might finally be putting sobriety before her career
Kim Richards is finally coming to terms with a serious issue in her life: Reality TV and sobriety probably don't mix well.
Richards appeared during Part 2 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 7 reunion, and during her time on the show, she opened up to host Andy Cohen about how being a full-time reality TV star may not have been the best thing for her health.
"I'm in recovery. I'm choosing to keep my recovery to myself," she said. "There's a clause in the 12 traditions that says not for public, television or radio, and there's a reason for that."
During her time on RHOBH, Richards was in and out of rehab. She was also arrested for trespassing when she tried to stay at a hotel bar after hours. After the season wrapped up, she was arrested again for shoplifting. She didn't return to the cast for Season 7, but she did make a few cameos as she worked on regaining control of her life.
"Last year was a low point. It was not a great year all the way around," she admitted. "When I took the drink — when I took the first drink — was my low point. That’s when I knew: Doesn’t get any lower than that. That was my... that was my... that was it."
Richards also went into the other source of constant drama during her time on RHOBH: her tumultuous relationship with her sister, Kyle.
"I think at times it has been hard to love me," she admitted. "I put my whole family through a lot."
