NCIS: I'm definitely not prepared for Abby & Tony's goodbye
On Tuesday, May 17, NCIS fans will officially say goodbye to Michael Weatherly as Tony DiNozzo during the Season 13 finale. There's no doubt it's going to be an emotional roller coaster. Well, Pauley Perrette (aka Abby Sciuto) just proved that Weatherly's last days on set and the filming of his final episode will surely make viewers shed tears with some tweets she shared Saturday, April 16.
She tweeted, "Been shooting #NCIS season 13 finale. Don't know when I've cried this much in a long time." I can only imagine how hard it will be for the cast, especially Perrette and everyone else who have been part of NCIS since the beginning alongside Weatherly, to say goodbye to him.
The actress then shared a photo of her and Weatherly as Tony and Abby hugging in the elevator. Alongside the photo she wrote, "My brother. @M_Weatherly Today... just in rehearsal. Tears. This #NCIS episode is amazing. I LOVE YOU MAN!"
Just with her words and the above photo, I'm already experiencing so many feelings. I'm not prepared for this. As much as I've made peace with Tony's exit, that doesn't mean it isn't going to hurt any less than it did the day Weatherly announced he was leaving NCIS.
That said, Perrette wants fans to remain faithful to NCIS and also appears confident that fans will love new MI-6 Agent Clayton Reeves (played by Duane Henry). As she tweeted, "TRUST! you will love where #NCIS is going. @M_Weatherly loves it. And you'll love this guy. Agt. Clayton."
She even wrote a long note (shown above) on Twitter to fans that will hopefully make them feel better about all of the upcoming changes. "I had to film a goodbye scene today," she wrote. "I'm dehydrated from crying. But it is only love." Perrette added, "You will be through [a] whirlwind in the next few episodes, I promise, but I promise... You will not be let down."
Even though she says fans won't be disappointed, I have a feeling it won't make saying goodbye to Tony and Weatherly any less easy. Based on that Abby and Tony hug, I'm already extremely emotional, so I can only imagine how I'll be once DiNozzo's final episode airs.
With that, I now have to go stock up on tissues in preparation.
NCIS airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
