People need to back off the Megan Fox paternity debate
Megan Fox is pregnant with her third child. The actress showed off her baby bump during CinemaCon in Las Vegas last week. Although she didn’t directly answer any questions on the red carpet, there’s no mistaking the bump. Unfortunately, as soon as people learned about her pregnancy, they started speculating about the father instead of celebrating this exciting news.
Fox filed for divorce from her husband, Brian Austin Green, back in August, citing irreconcilable differences. But clearly the two have been quietly working through the differences in their relationship, which is how they got baby no. 3. The couple shares custody of their two sons Noah, 3, and Bodhi, 2.
The news of the pregnancy was reportedly a surprise to both Fox and Green, but they’re over the moon about the news. Unfortunately, everyone else seems to be more concerned with the drama than the celebration. Immediately, people wanted to know if Green was the father and what that meant for their relationship. And every other prying question they could think of.
It’s as if people forget how to have manners as soon as they see someone star in a movie or a television show.
Fox showed that she’s unaffected by the gossip and drama by joking about the baby’s father on her Instagram. She posted a collage of Shia LaBeouf, Will Arnett and Jake Johnson with a caption that said “#notthefather,” which is just the perfect way to handle the situation.
She doesn’t need to answer any questions about her choices. She doesn’t need to explain the status of her relationship with Green — it’s obviously complicated. All she needs to do is stay healthy for her new baby and celebrate her growing family.
What we need to do is back off and let her.
