Taking to Instagram on Monday, Michele posted a photo of her new tattoo — a tiny coffee cup on her ring finger — and in the caption she explained the very special meaning behind the idea.

"I lost my beautiful grandma this week," she wrote. "She wasn't your typical grandma. She gave me my first cup of coffee when I was 8 years old. She said something inappropriate to every boyfriend I've ever had. She never made pie or knit me a sweater. But she was my grandma, and I loved her... More than anything.. I love you, Grandma. @prospect_tattoos Bronx NY."

And jordan_waggner also weighed in on the new ink, writing, "I'm so sorry for your loss Lea. Stay strong I know you can get through this. Your [sic] a[n] inspiration to the world I miss my grandma everyday [sic] when she died I was to [sic] young to get a tattoo, so I sang to her every morning and night."
