Kesha will never be silenced, and she's just made that perfectly clear
Kesha's lawsuit against Dr. Luke has come to a rather heartbreaking end for the star as a New York judge dismissed almost all of her counterclaims on Wednesday.
According to Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich, a "lack of jurisdiction and failure to procure facts proving the allegations" were the reasons Kesha's claims were thrown out, People magazine reports.
In court documents obtained by the magazine, Judge Kornreich stated that the claim that the plaintiffs "discriminated against [her] based on her gender" — were dismissed because "Kesha failed to plead that any of the alleged discrimination occurred in New York State or City ... the court has no jurisdiction over."
The judge also found there was not enough evidence to prove Dr. Luke had committed a "hate crime." The news will no doubt come as a shocking blow to Kesha, who has, as yet, not addressed the ruling. However, she did take to Instagram on Monday to share her thoughts on another matter.
According to Kesha, she was offered her freedom if she was to publicly apologize, and her claim makes it seem as though she was offered her freedom in exchange for a public retraction of the rape allegations she made against Dr. Luke.
Taking to Instagram, she posted a photo of herself staring into the camera, along with the caption, "so. I got offered my freedom IF i were to lie. I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors. I will not take back the TRUTH. I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again."
Kesha's defiance and her powerful words have been felt by many commenters.
"That is sickening.... You have so much support Kesha. Your fans and and many more love you!" jaxxx13 wrote.
"I learned about what happened today. I'm thoroughly disgusted and I wish there was something I could do besides be angry. I'm so sorry..." psylock1045 shared.
And fan randi.beth thanked Kesha for being such an inspiration to her, writing, "Yes!! Stay strong, lovely lady! You are SUCH an inspiration. There are so many standing behind you!!"
