#WCW: Kelsea Ballerini has the sweetest shoutout for Taylor Swift
If you didn't know who Kelsea Ballerini was last week, then I'm sure you know her name by now after her standout performance with Nick Jonas at the 2016 ACM Awards.
Ballerini has accomplished quite a bit since she released her first single "Love Me Like You Mean It" in 2014. Not only has she performed at the Grand Ole Opry, but she was also the first solo female country artist to score a No. 1 hit with her debut single. The last female country artist to do so? Carrie Underwood, with "Jesus, Take the Wheel."
And let's not forget: She won New Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2016 ACM Awards!
Up next for Ballerini? New music, of course. She recently released a new single "Peter Pan."
While we're over here clearly girl crushin' on Ballerini, we had to ask her: Who are your women crushes? Here are her #WCW picks, in her own words.
1. Taylor Swift
"I'm so thankful to be able to ask her advice and laugh with her, and I'd still wait in line to meet her any day of the week."
2. Hillary Scott (from Lady Antebellum)
"She is like my big sister. She helps me stay super grounded and is one of my favorite people to celebrate, and cry, with."
3. Carla Corum, my mom
"She teaches me every day how to be a strong and empowered woman. She uprooted her life when I was 15 years old for my dream and moved to Nashville. I'm thankful every day for her."
4. Jensen Nicolaisen, my college roommate
"We didn't know each other. She's on the road with me now and keeps me sane. She is one of the greatest humans I've ever met."
5. Leslie Fram (senior vice president of music strategy for CMT)
"She has dedicated so much time to shedding light on women in country music, and has truly changed the outlook in such a huge way and has been such a huge part of my career."
6. Kelly Clarkson
"She is my favorite artist of all time. I love that she can sing her booty off and still be super normal and down to earth."
