Britney Spears brought the crowd to tears yesterday — and it wasn’t even her show. The pop singer went onstage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville to introduce her sister’s performance. Appearing with brother Bryan, Britney surprised Jamie Lynn with the introduction of a lifetime.
The whole Opry crowd roared when Britney walked onstage, but she was happy to quickly avert the attention to Jamie Lynn. Just like a good big sister would do.
“Thanks to the Opry for letting me introduce this beautiful young lady who is my heart and my soul,” she started. “Not only is she beautiful and extremely talented, but she’s my little sister: Jamie Lynn Spears!”
Watching the sisters hug and tear up onstage was a very sweet and endearing moment. It’s not too often we get to see these kinds of emotions from Britney, so the whole moment was special to watch. It’s clear that family, and especially her baby sister, is still the most important thing to her.
The Grand Ole Opry is a sacred stage in Nashville and country music, so having Britney there for the younger Spears, whose country career is gaining some major traction, made the night all the more memorable.
“I can’t believe that my whole family kept this secret from me,” Jamie Lynn said when she finally was able to stop her tears. “Well, now I’m gonna try to sing some songs for y’all.”
The night ended with quite a few Instagram snaps and some sisterly bonding time. I only hope we’ll get more moments like this from the Spears sisters!
