The Bachelor totally lied, and I'll never trust Chris Harrison again
These were all the things said by Harrison and the show at one point or another that didn't end up delivering.
First, Ben's conflict between the women? Easily decided after their final dates. He knew who he was going to propose to by the time he picked out the ring!
Then the promised big decision from Ben's mom? Not so much of a decision as an encouragement.
And what about that dramatic phone call? Not so dramatic. It was to Lauren's dad asking for his official permission to propose to Lauren.
Finally, that seemingly big cry session from Ben? Short-lived and quickly turned to joy by Lauren's arrival.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that all parties involved found their happily ever after. So stoked that JoJo is going to be The Bachelorette. But that doesn't make up for the show's lies and clever editing. Let. Down.
Now, let's get into the After the Final Rose special where Harrison propositioned the couple with an impromptu wedding. Rather than calling this the most dramatic The Bachelor finale, maybe we should call it the most awkward. I know I wasn't the only one who thought that rose arch was tacky! And the pastor just kinda chilled in the shadows.
But leave it to Ben to make an awkward situation shine. Ben re-proposed to Lauren so they could do it in front of their families, and he and Lauren proudly displayed their new big, beautiful family. Now that's how you honor a new proposal.
Listen, I know I said in my title that this was a breakup article. But this might be an on-again, off-again relationship, just so you know. But right now, it's definitely off.
Were you as disappointed with the lack of drama on The Bachelor finale as I was?
