After a rocky start to the season, it certainly appeared as if the marriage woes of Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas had been smoothed over. The Real Housewives of Atlanta power couple seemed to be enjoying married life again — but tonight's reunion provided an update that, while not completely unexpected, shed some light on their current relationship status.

When host Andy Cohen asked Thomas where he spent most of his time these days, he was quick to answer "Charlotte," a city that Bailey admitted she doesn't spend much, if any, time in. Thomas confessed that, while it definitely sounds like the two are separated, this isn't the case. Cohen then asked Thomas about the viral video that featured him getting cozy with a female patron at his bar, and Thomas agreed that it did not make him look good. In an odd turn of events, Bailey sided with Thomas, saying that it's not his style to hit on women in a bar full of people and that if he was going to cheat, he would be more discreet about it. For a marriage that is supposedly doing fine, Bailey sure does know a lot about her husband's potential cheating techniques!

After verbally sparring with Porsha Williams over accusations that he pays his female employees with "penis," Thomas admitted that his marriage with Bailey would be easier if she were to leave the show. Bailey didn't exactly agree with this sentiment, but she did say that having their marriage broadcast to millions on television every week doesn't make it any easier. Viewers were quick to take these statements as definitive proof that Bailey and Thomas desperately need the paycheck that Bravo writes them each season, even if it means damaging their own marriage.

Bailey and Thomas desperately want viewers to think that they are just fine, but it's obvious that there is lingering tension in their marriage. This could be caused by a variety of factors, including Thomas' suspect history, but their continued participation in RHOA drama certainly isn't helping matters. Whether their goal is to be the center of attention or to receive a fat Bravo paycheck, they aren't likely to depart the show and focus on their marriage anytime soon.
