Duggar family sends Josh motivational message on his 28th birthday
Josh Duggar's family has an uplifting message for him.
Thursday was Duggar's 28th birthday, which he spent still separated from his famous family as he continues treatment at a faith-based rehab center.
But his family took to the official Duggar family Instagram to wish him a happy day anyway — and to point out that his future will hopefully be a little brighter than his past.
"Today is our son Josh's birthday. The heartache of the past year cannot surpass the joy 28 years ago on this day when we first became parents!" the message, written by Duggar's parents Jim Bob and Michelle, read. "We love you Josh and believe your best days can be ahead of you. We continue to pray for you every day."
Duggar has been in the rehab center in Illinois since last August, when he checked in in the wake of multiple family scandals, including his admission to molesting his sisters as a teen, the revelation that he held multiple accounts on Ashley Madison and his admission to cheating on his wife, Anna, and being addicted to pornography. He and Anna share four children: 6-year-old Mackynzie, 4-year-old Michael, 2-year-old Marcus and 7-month-old Meredith Grace, who was born after Duggar checked into rehab.
The family's wildly popular reality TV show, 19 Kids and Counting, was canceled amid the scandals, but Duggar's sisters, Jessa and Jill, discussed all the family drama when they starred on a spinoff series, Jill and Jessa: Counting On.
"Family is everything," Jessa said on the show. "2015 was a very difficult year."
