DWTS' Kym Johnson spills details from Robert Herjavec's big proposal
Kym Johnson's proposal was even more romantic than we could have imagined.
Dancing with the Stars pro Johnson and her former dance partner, Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec, got engaged on a special date, People magazine reveals: It was almost a year to the day after they first met when they were assigned to be partners on the dance competition show. According to a new interview with Johnson, who spills all the details about that special day, it was a perfect way to celebrate the moment that brought them together.
"It was a really magical moment," Johnson said of Herjavec's proposal. "I was just so happy!"
According to People, Herjavec put the ring box on top of an inflatable swan in the pool, decorated with rose petals. Johnson pulled in the swan to discover the ring, a 6.5-carat emerald-cut diamond.
"I was completely shocked," she said. "I can't stop staring at the ring. It's unbelievable."
But the sweetest part of the proposal came after the ring and the big question, when Johnson and her new fiancé headed to Herjavec's home, where he had gathered their family and friends to celebrate.
"Robert flew my mom in from Australia," Johnson gushed. "It was very special."
Johnson and Herjavec, who have been dating since late last spring, also revealed that they plan to have their wedding before the end of the year. And their vow exchange will come with a very special gift for Herjavec from the DWTS producers.
"Towards the end of the show, we realized that hopefully things were going to work out with [Kym and me]," he explained. "The producers said if I ended up marrying her, they'd give me a mirrorball trophy!"
