Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck reportedly had a sweet moment during the Oscars

The problem with Hollywood power couples is when they split, there’s no way for them to avoid each other on big industry nights. Recently divorced Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck ran into that problem last night at the Oscars. But the two pros handled the almost-awkward encounter graciously. Would you expect anything less from either?

Garner and Affleck managed to avoid each other, at least publicly, the whole night. No one caught them on the red carpet together or during the show. But at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, the two found each other and shared a sweet hug and kiss. Garner was even seen grabbing on to Affleck’s lapels while complimenting his look for the night.

It’s not surprising, though, given the way the two handled their marriage. They lived a mostly private life together, focusing on their children and their careers. It makes sense that they wouldn’t start inviting drama into their life now. Although, I wouldn’t have been opposed to some sort of spat during the Oscars — it would have added a little spice to the night.

Garner did cause a few waves in her most recent Vanity Fair interview, which hit stands on the Friday before the Oscars, but either Affleck hadn’t had time to read the article or nothing Garner revealed was news to him. Either way, it’s a good thing they’re managing to get along, if for no other reason than making sure their kids don’t have to get in the middle of some messy fights.

What do you think about the Garner/Affleck split? Do you think they’ll stay on their best behavior or start slinging dirt soon?
