Taylor Swift makes beautiful maid of honor in childhood friend's wedding
Taylor Swift just hit another major milestone this weekend. The 10-time Grammy winner was the maid of honor in her childhood best friend Britany Maack's wedding on Saturday, Feb. 20.
Swift posted a photo on Instagram, jumping for joy with the wedding party. She captioned the picture, "I met her when I was 10 days old, and him in kindergarten. Now they're married and I'm the happiest maid of honor ever. Congratulations @britmaack and Ben!"
Swift and Maack both wore gowns designed by Reem Acra for the special occasion. Swift also wore a similar style dress in white at the 2013 Winter Whites Gala at Kensington Palace in London, but for this event, she kept her hair simple and went for a neutral makeup look.
The "Wildest Dreams" singer posted two more photos celebrating the big day in her home state of Pennsylvania on Instagram. She shared a shot of the pair as young children with the caption, "Freshman Year," then posted a photo of them at the wedding with the caption, "Senior Year." So cute!
Maack, who married Benjamin Lamanna, also posted a pic with lifelong BFF Swift on Instagram. She captioned the photo, "The best friend, the best family, the best groom and the best day."
Swift was also captured holding Maack's cathedral-length veil. Fans quickly drew parallels between the sweet shot and Swift having her dress held at the Grammys last weekend. We love that!
"I've never been a maid of honor before. This is my first time, and it's really, really important to me because this is my best friend, who I've known since I was born," Swift previously said, according to Billboard. "And she's marrying someone I've known since I was four."
Swift also announced this weekend that "New Romantics" will be her next single. This will be the seventh single she's released off her 2014 album 1989. The song, which is a bonus track on the deluxe edition of 1989, is scheduled to started hitting radio airwaves on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
