Gwen Stefani throws major shade at Gavin Rossdale with album cover (PHOTO)
Gwen Stefani is getting the last word in her divorce.
The album art for Stefani's soon-to-be-released solo album — her first in 10 years — was just revealed, and it includes a very sneaky jab at her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.
The cover features a gorgeous close-up photo of Stefani looking just as perfect as she always does, with one hand resting against her face. The photo is finished with illustrations that look like doodles: hearts and flowers in Stefani's hair, black tears running down her face. And, in the corner, a ring drawn on her finger with a frowny face connected to it by an arrow.
The not-so-subtle shade is undoubtedly aimed at Rossdale, who allegedly cheated on Stefani with their nanny before they split last October. Even though Stefani appears to have moved on and then some with her new beau, Blake Shelton, who can blame her for having some lingering hurt feelings left over from the end of her 13-year marriage?
And even though the dis is there, Stefani (or her publicist) seems to want to keep it a private joke — even though the album cover went live today, the ring and frowny face are covered up by a sticker.
Stefani is likely to use some of her new music to get back at Rossdale, too. Her first single from the new album, "Used to Love You," is an instant classic breakup jam. No wonder, since she wrote it in the wake of her divorce. Here's hoping the rest of the album will give us more of the same, because all those hurt feelings have already made for some great music.
