So maybe Amber Portwood's fiancé Matt Baier has seven kids? On last week's Teen Mom, Gary, Amber's former fiancé and the father of her daughter Leah, after stepping into the bowels of the Internet, came up with "proof" that Matt has several outstanding child support cases against him. Matt didn't so much deny it as he devolved into angry silence (except for when he was screaming at the producers to get out of "his" house). It wouldn't have been a surprise to find out this week that he and Amber were done, but that's not what happened. Instead, Amber spent a lot of Monday night's new episode being super mad at Gary for bringing this up in the first place and also at the women who allege that Matt is the father of their children, and not a lot of (read: any) time being angry at Matt, who's been lying to her for a pretty long time.

On Twitter, fans had no qualms about expressing their feelings about the situation.

We know that, in real time, Amber and Matt are still together (or are they?), and on one hand, it definitely is a head-scratcher as to why. And on several other hands, there are plenty of possible reasons why Amber hasn't broken up with Matt. It's definitely crappy to be presented with such devastating accusations about someone you love, and it makes sense that the first place you'd go to, especially if you're on TV, is denial. Amber has already been through so much in her short life — addiction, depression, teen parenting, prison, the loss of her father — and this is the first time in a long time that she's been stable. And maybe a stable situation with a trash can human is better than no stability at all.

The thing about being on a show like Teen Mom is that whatever mistakes you make, the cameras are there to record them. It's pretty likely that everything you do will be reduced to the fact that you had a kid in your teens, and you'll never be able to escape that, no matter what you do in the future or what you say about the past. The point is, falling down in public after you've spent such a long time trying to pick yourself back up again isn't such an ideal situation and maybe the prospect is too much to handle. Maybe you'd even keep hanging out with, and defending, a guy who lies to you.
