Samantha Bee stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night.
Bee goes hard at the one obvious question she’s been getting since she started her late-night show Full Frontal was announced: What’s it like to be a woman on late night?
“Before I started this process, I didn’t even know women could talk,” she jokes. She then calls Colbert out on constantly referencing his “man parts” on his show. Who says female comedians only make period jokes?
She shares a hilarious list of euphemisms for the female “bikini area” that we’re going to start using immediately. Bee’s suggestions include Department of the Interior, She Who Shall Not Be Named, The Chamber of Secrets, the Hurt Locker and Tavern on the Green.
Bee does, of course, have something to say about being one of the first women with a late-night television show. She spoke to the Daily Beast about her tagline, “Watch or your sexist,” laughing off the overtones in the joke.
“I don’t think you’re a sexist if you don’t watch… I think you’re a fool if you don’t watch,” she said. Later, when asked about the gender issue, she doesn’t exactly answer the question.
“It’s not exhausting. I think it’s a valid question. It’s not exactly a question I can answer. But it’s a very sensible question that I completely understand. I’d ask myself the same question if I was interviewing me. So I get it.”
