Anna Duggar's comments about her marriage are hailed as an inspiration
Anna Duggar has not given up on her marriage, and her recent comments prove this.
Taking to the Duggar Family blog, Duggar updated fans on how she's doing in the wake of husband Josh's indiscretions — including his multiple affairs and porn addiction.
"Many have asked how I am doing. So many have asked that it's actually humbling and touching. 2015 was the most difficult year of my life. Yet, amazingly I've found that in my own life crisis God has drawn near to me ('He's near to the brokenhearted' Psalms 34:18) and my faith has been more precious to me than ever before," she wrote, before revealing that she has been in contact with Josh and even recently visited him at his faith-based rehabilitation facility.
"Just recently I visited Josh," she continued. "It was an important step on a long difficult road. I want to thank all of you for your prayers and your messages of hope. I can never express how your kindness and prayers have brought encouragement when I needed it most — outpacing the grief and discouragement at every turn. I trust that God will continue to show His love and tenderness toward us and bring beauty from ashes — somehow — as only He can do. Please continue to pray for me, Josh and our children."
Duggar's post seems to suggest that she has taken her wedding vows "for better or for worse" to heart, and she is willing to do what it takes to fight for her marriage. While there were no comments on the actual blog post, fans have shared their thoughts about her decision on the Duggars' official Facebook page — and there are two very opposing views.
Some fans feel she is a complete inspiration.
"I love Anna. What an incredible example of compassion, patience, and forgiveness, for all of us young wives. She is inspirational. I wish her nothing but happiness," Ainsley Morin wrote.
Cindy Kerkhofs agreed, writing, "Anna, you are an amazing, beautiful, strong and Godly woman! What an example you are! May God use everything for His glory. Praying for your family."
"You are such a strong woman, a Godly woman. An inspiration to me and many others. God is good through all of this," Tammy Kindig shared.
But others think Josh is unremorseful and that she should leave him before he hurts her again.
China Wilkinson weighed in on the situation, writing, "Josh isn't sorry for his actions and will never change. Shame on him. I hope Anna runs far far away. He never would have admitted it if he hadn't gotten caught. I love the Duggars, but that is my opinion. I hope Anna leaves him."
"Anna Duggar - Please learn from others. It doesn't matter how strong your faith is. Men like him do not change," Angela Dodson urged. "They cannot change. He will always feel entitled to have 'his'. Whatever 'his' is at the time. Don't bury your head in the religious sand. God helps those who help themselves. Praying for you."
