For once, it’s not the Kardashians that someone is taking aim at — this time, it’s their church pastor.
Senior Pastor of Vous Church, Rich Wilkerson Jr. — whose congregation includes the Kardashians and Justin Bieber — has found himself in a spot of trouble with several Miami street artists.
According to TMZ, artists such as Typoe, Bikismo and Ahol Sniffs Glue had their work used in a series of social media campaigns and newspaper ads by the downtown Miami church, but the major problem here is that no one allegedly asked for permission to use their material — resulting in legal action.
A lawsuit filed by Kushnirsky Gerber PLLC, and obtained by TMZ, reportedly takes aim at Wilkerson Jr.’s lifestyle and his celebrity connections and blasts him for not offering the artists any compensation.
According to the gossip site, the murals were intended to be used for a local public school and were not designed for the use of “a well-funded celebrity church brand or its prosperous pastors.”
Would the simple solution here be to have just asked for permission?
It certainly would have been the right thing to do, but according to the lawsuit, even if Wilkerson Jr. had asked for permission, the answer would have been a firm “no.”
Guess we won’t be seeing any of these street artists in Vous Church!
