The People’s Choice Awards wasn’t his first rodeo.
At least, that’s one thing we think based on this morning’s research about Zacari Nicasio, the man who crashed the stage at last night’s People’s Choice Awards.
It happened as the ladies of The Talk were onstage accepting their award for Favorite Daytime TV Hosting Team. Videos showed Nicasio running up the stairs to the stage and grabbing the mic, where he shared his name, yelled something about rapper Kevin Gates, and then yelled, “Yeezy jumped the jumpman!” as he was (literally) kicked offstage by Sharon Osbourne. It was definitely weird.
Information about Nicasio is a little sparse online, but here’s what we know so far:
1. He goes by the stage name Zac Zeta
And he produces heavily autotuned rap music that sounds a little like a watered-down Kanye West.
2. He was arrested for Wednesday’s stunt
Security took Nicasio into custody outside the People’s Choice Awards, and according to E! News, he was charged with a misdemeanor for interfering with a live event. The site says he’s headed to court in late January.
3. It’s not the first time he’s crashed an event
At least, we think. Nicasio’s Instagram shows him on red carpets for charity and celebrity events all over Los Angeles, and since he’s not known for his music, we strongly suspect he crashes those events, too.
4. He might be kind of a jerk
Fashion designer Michael Costello accused Nicasio on Instagram of placing a fraudulent $15,000 bid at a charity auction in December. Not exactly classy, dude.
5. He’s pretty proud of crashing the People’s Choice Awards
Nicasio posted a video of the moment he crashed the stage to his Instagram, telling followers he “had to do it,” and that he’s “taking over” in 2016. He’s been steadily picking up new Instagram followers throughout the day, so maybe his bid for recognition worked. Only time will tell.
