The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, Teresa Giudice is set to be released from prison in a matter of weeks, and a source close to the family told E! News how her husband, Joe, and their four daughters are spending the last few weeks before Teresa returns home.
“Everyone’s doing a countdown. It’s an exciting time,” the insider revealed to the site. “Everyone’s excited to see her again and come over to the house and hug her.”
The source added, “Everyone’s just very proud of how she’s handled things and gotten through it and stayed strong. They’re really thankful she’s finally coming home.”
Teresa’s 15-month sentence was shortened, allowing her to return home in time for Christmas. She served her sentence at Danbury Correctional Facility in Connecticut after pleading guilty to a number of fraud charges. Soon after Teresa returns home, Joe will begin his own, much longer sentence. But according to the family insider, no one’s really thinking about that yet.

Joe himself recently revealed to E! News what the family plans to do in the overlapping time after Teresa is released and before he begins his own sentence.
“We’re probably going to take a trip or two with the family,” he said. “I’d stay in the states, [maybe] some island close by…Whatever she wants to do when she comes home.”
And Teresa probably has some writing to do — she’s still hard at work on her memoir about her time behind bars, entitled Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again, which is expected to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the reality star’s ups, downs and legal troubles.
For now, there’s no official word on when Joe will have to begin his sentence, but we imagine it’ll be a happy holiday season in the Giudice house.
