But Stefani is once again opening up about her split — and just how unexpected it was.

"Everybody knows pretty much what happened to me," Stefani told Elvis Duran and The Z100 Morning Show. "I got a divorce, which completely was not in the plan at all."

She went on to call the experience a "horrible, crazy explosion," although it did help her songwriting abilities, in particular, her new track, "Used to Love You."

"I had to force myself to go to the studio because I really just wanted to be in bed crying and do what you do when you life falls apart, and I didn't," she explained. "I went to the studio, and I was just convinced that I had to make something out of this."

Some could argue that her divorce came with a silver lining, because although it's been a rough year for Stefani, she is now in a really good place. Speaking of this, she said, "Things are clear for the first time in a long time. That feels really good."

But that's not all she had to discuss. Stefani also spoke about "poop" and her kids during the interview — and it's awesome how excited she was to be there. For more, watch the video below.
