Kyle Richards breaks silence on Yolanda Foster 'faking' Lyme disease
Any fan of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills knows that Yolanda Foster hasn't been feeling well the past few seasons. Foster has been suffering from Lyme disease, and she's been incredibly public with her awful battle. But, not too long ago, it was reported that Foster's RHOBH costar Kyle Richards may have been doubting her illness. However, now Richards is coming clean about what she really thinks is going on with her friend.
In a new interview with Huff Post Live, Richards said, "I want to be very clear about this. [Foster] and is really suffering. There’s no question about that at all, so I really want to be clear about that because there have been people thinking I doubted or questioned it because of a comment made in which I was discussing the trailer for the upcoming season.”
So, there you have it. Richards went on to say that many people, even Foster's own family members, have questioned the means in which she's being treated for the disease. Apparently, Foster was flying all over the world, receiving extravagant treatments... as, you know, anyone with Foster's money would do.
But, as Richards explained it, skepticism from other people isn't uncommon with this disease, because many things about it are so mysterious. (Kind of disturbing, though? The fact that Lisa Rinna apparently threw out the word "Munchausen" when talking about Foster. Not cool, Rinna. Not cool at all.)
It was first reported that Richards herself was questioning the disease after she did an interview with Entertainment Tonight, in which she said, "I think for a lot of people it's very confusing... Some things came up [that] made some of the Housewives question exactly what was really going on."
Richards didn't elaborate much, but it's also been reported that Foster is on a mission to prove she is, in fact, sick. A source said, "Yolanda watched how Bravo handled Brooks’ cancer scandal. She won’t tolerate this playing out as gossip fodder or allow the show to minimize the seriousness of what she has been through." Good for her.
From the sound of things, Richards is incredibly sorry that anything she said made it seem like she didn't believe Foster was really sick. After watching the interview, no doubt, she's sure her friend has Lyme disease. But man, it had to have really hurt Foster to be so ill and have people thinking you might be faking it for attention. Truly awful.
