Chris Hemsworth looks unrecognizable after extreme transformation for new film (PHOTO)
When you think of Chris Hemsworth, you think of an insanely good looking (and talented) guy with bulging muscles and a Norse godlike physique, right? Well, not anymore.
Hemsworth is preparing for his role in the upcoming film In the Heart of the Sea — set in 1820, following the story of New England crewmen who were left stranded in the ocean after a whale destroyed their ship — and his transformation is really quite shocking.
Hemsworth decided to share a picture of his new look via Instagram, which he captioned with, "Just tried a new diet/training program called Lost At Sea. Wouldn't recommend it.. #IntheHeartoftheSea." And gone are his Thor muscles — instead, Hemsworth looks much slimmer and very, very dirty.
Hemsworth's dedication to his role is evident, and he has shed the pounds, something that fans remarked on in the comments section.
"Pls be buff again," hxbba_ urged Hemsworth, while lovenlife000 shared similar thoughts, writing, "woah! Can't even recognise [sic] him."
And some fans were in sheer disbelief.
Tatantunez wrote, "This is soooooo not him. Like 4 days ago he was in a very good shape and now he is like that? No way!"
The transformation really is drastic. Hemsworth previously revealed to Entertainment Tonight that he has had to endure a harsh diet for filming.
"We have to shoot the really skinny stuff where we drop down to five, six, 700 calories a day, a good three or four weeks, and it's going to be pretty uncomfortable, but we'll be together in our misery," he said. "I spend more time thinking about food than anything else at the moment."
