The Big Bang Theory's Amy & Sheldon take their relationship to the next level
Gather 'round The Big Bang Theory fans, because some major new was just revealed by showrunner Steve Molaro. If you're an Amy and Sheldon shipper, prepare yourselves, because this scoop is huge. To be clear, this is definitely not a joke. No, Sheldon is not going to pop out anytime soon and say, "Bazinga!"
Per Molaro, Amy and Sheldon are going to have sex in Season 9. Say what? After what seems like a lifetime, can you believe they're going to take the next step in their relationship?
"After over five years of dating, we felt the time was right for Sheldon and Amy to finally consummate their relationship," Molaro statement, "and we’re so excited for the audience to see the journey over the next several episodes."
Does this mean Amy and Sheldon are getting back together? Or are they just going to spend a night of passionate (maybe?) lovemaking together? The details surrounding their coitus, as Sheldon would say, are unclear, but who isn't looking forward to the episode?
Apparently, they filmed the episode this week, but it won't air until Thursday, Dec. 17. Now that sounds like a wonderful present for fans during the holiday season.
Seeing as they've waited so long to have sex, I'm sure this is going to be a more emotional and serious moment. It doesn't seem like a decision they'd take lightly, especially Sheldon, and the fact that they're broken up at the moment. However, maybe I'm wrong, and they decide to seal the deal in the heat of the moment. Whatever the case, here's hoping it lives up to everyone's expectations, just like when Sheldon kissed Amy and told her he loved her.
The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS.
